Seeking inspiration? Look to the Classics.

iStock_000003496015_ExtraSmallThe Momaya Press Short Story Competition is accepting entries on any topic related to music (deadline: 30 April 2013).  However if you’re seeking inspiration, here’s an idea for you:
As audiences dwindle and age, is classical music doomed to die out?  As performances grow smaller in scale – and thus more expensive – is this an art form reserved for the privileged few who can afford to pay high ticket prices, but might not even understand the (or care for) the music. They may attend performances as a status symbol. Your story could explore these ideas, from the perspective of a working musician or an audience member.
